The series Mente (Mind) by Andreoli Manuela explores the processes of thought and perception through conceptual and structured abstract painting. This marks a turning point in her artistic career: after exploring the body as a primary experience, her research shifts towards the invisible territory of the mind, where perception, memory and identity take shape. Here, painting becomes the structure of thought, a symbolic representation of the mental processes that guide human beings, often below the threshold of consciousness.

In this series, the gesture becomes more controlled, the colour more intentional. The geometries, repetitions and chromatic stratifications recall mental patterns, deep-rooted beliefs and inner programmes that influence the way we interpret reality. The yellows and ochres dialogue with the solar plexus chakra (Manipura), the centre of identity and self-determination; the greens and blues connect to the heart and communication chakra, opening up a space of balance between rationality and emotion.

These works function as hypnotic maps: the eye is guided, led, sometimes suspended. The observer enters a state of focused attention, similar to a light trance, in which the mind becomes more receptive and open to change. It is in this space that the painting is not merely observed, but interacts with the viewer, stimulating a reorganisation of inner meanings.

The Quadri Mente (Mind Paintings) represent the moment when the artist becomes aware of the power of thought and the possibility of reprogramming one's inner dialogue. Painting thus becomes an instrument of awareness and transformation: a necessary step in recognising one's own automatisms and beginning to overcome them. Only by traversing the mind, understanding its structures and limitations, is it possible to open oneself to the more subtle dimensions of the Spirit.
