The painter has definitively abandoned figurative art to move decisively towards an increasingly refined and gestural non-iconic expression, as if she were searching for a compositional synthesis. Three colours dominate her works: white, black and red, a well-considered choice motivated by the desire to express what she feels inside through the chromatic vibrations that arise from a confrontation with herself. Manuela Andreoli's artistic journey is divided into three main phases: Body, Mind and Spirit, understood as stages of an evolutionary quest and not as separate thematic categories. With just a few colours, I try to express what I feel inside,‘ says Manuela Andreoli. ’Darkness and light, black and white, as a metaphor for life in an unstable balance between joys and anxieties, an inner turmoil that subsides when the scene is dominated by love, red."
An expressive dualism that we extraordinarily find in the environment in which she lives, between the plains and the mountains, the ideal place to confront immanent and transcendent creative expression. It is therefore an inner search that is expressed through “gesture and sign” and emerges through a movement that arises from instinct and is guided by a decade of experience that is still in constant creative ferment and particularly vital. A quest in line with the words of Yves Klein: “the painter must constantly create a single masterpiece, himself”.
