Manuela Andreoli's Quadri Corpo (Body Paintings) represent the original phase of her research, focused on gesture, matter and the physical dimension of painting. They are the origin of her artistic journey, the overture to a research that takes shape through her first pictorial experiments and a deep desire to know herself. In this initial phase, the body is not yet a symbol, but a field of exploration, the primary place where energy manifests itself and consciousness begins to recognise itself.

Colour emerges instinctively, sometimes not yet disciplined, but authentic and necessary. Reds, earth tones and browns resonate with the root chakra (Muladhara), evoking the need for stability, belonging and presence. Oranges and warm vibrations activate the sacral chakra (Svadhisthana), the seat of sensory experience, pleasure and nascent creativity: it is here that the artist experiences the language of gesture as an extension of the body.

In these paintings, the pictorial material becomes listening: listening to the breath, movement, tension and release. The body is experienced as a silent teacher, an instrument through which the artist learns to perceive their own embodied Self. The aura that is generated is dense, still in formation, but deeply vital: an energy field that is structured through direct experience and the repetition of gesture.

The Body Paintings do not seek completeness, but truth. They mark the beginning of a journey of awareness in which knowing one's own body becomes the first step in approaching one's inner centre. From this solid and experimental root, the subsequent dimensions of the mind and spirit will develop, in an evolutionary path that arises from matter and tends towards consciousness.
